Profile

In 1973, architect Octavio Lobianco moved from Rio de Janeiro while he was still studying architecture at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). He found in the mountainous region of Petrópolis and Itaipava the climate and conditions, that together with good architecture could provide better quality of life for his clients.

He began his professional activities prior to graduation in 1976 and founded a contracting firm based on the experience he had acquired working for architecture and construction companies, since his early years at university.

He started out as a subcontractor working for construction companies, industries, commercial establishments and also private clients. After he graduated, he re-formed the sub-contracting business into an architecture and construction firm, designing his own projects as well as constructing projects for other architects. He worked in different areas such as residential, industrial, commercial, apartment and shopping center design and construction. Today there are over 400 projects, some of which are cited in his portfolio.

In 1984 his architectural and construction firm was one of the pioneers in launching buildings within a closed condominium group on cost plus system. The firm has completed and delivered to date, 240 units, including apartments, office suites and commercial stores.

Even during times of intensive activity, Octavio Lobianco dedicates time and attention to design and build private residences, work which gives him great personal joy and fulfillment. He believes that the main virtue of an architect is to have the sensibility to spend the time necessary with the client’s family, in order to fully understand each individual’s expectations and requirements as well as fostering the interaction of all who are going to be living and sharing the same space.
